A firm have been asked to pay a £97,507 fine. Of that including prosecution costs after the company director had breached several regulations under the Health and Safety at Work act.
When specialist inspectors tested 5 workers to see if they had lead in their system; results showed that all had proved to have higher than ordinary levels of it.
The director was later banned for 5 years, with an additional fine.
In court the company pleaded guilty to 8 counts of violation within the Health and Safety law. It was said that employees were not trained in Health and Safety. No workers had any protection from spraying lead paint, and no fall measures had been incorperated for working at heights, leaving employees to form their own working structure.
