

A window and conservatory installation company, employed by Philip Leslie Davies, who trade as Meadow Windows and Conservatories have been fined £3,000.
Following the removal of soffits on site. They were given the fine for failure to protect its workers where by four of its employees had been exposed to the asbestos.
A HSE inspector commenting on the case had said that the whole of the happenings were avoidable and that now as a result, they'll have to live with the fear of a life-threatening lung disease.
Requests have been made for Mr. Davies to pay extra costs of £1,615 - Further to his fine of £3,000. He was heard accepting responsibilty for exposing his employees to the asbestos, as well as failing to carry out standard assessments. The proper training was also not provided for his workers and he was given a charge for being in breach of Regulations 5,10 and 11 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations, 2006.
