Method Statements / Safe System of Work:

Method statements describe the job to be completed, outlines the steps involved, the hazards associated with the work and the controls to be implemented to ensure that the work is completed in a safe manner. They are required to control work activities which require additional controls to be put into place to ensure worker safety. They are often used in conjunction with permits-to-work which provided an increased level of control over particularly hazardous activities such as working at height, roof working and confined space working etc.
